About Carly...

Registered with PTUK, Carly has over 15 years of experience working with children and young people after qualifying as a Play Therapist from Leeds University.

Carly started her career as a Primary school teacher and has an extensive knowledge of the difficulties that mental health has on learning and understands how important it is to form positive relationships with others within the school setting.

Carly has delivered training for Educational settings on attachment theory and trauma and has developed a confident approach whilst offering therapeutic parenting to support families through difficulties.

Carly uses her experience to help children address complex issues through different modalities in a way that they can understand. She builds trusting therapeutic relationships through creating a safe, non-judgemental environment in which young people are able to express themselves fully.

As a believer of peer support, Carly has also facilitated group therapy sessions in which children are exploring the same themes together.

As a Play Therapist, Carly has developed an understanding of the way in which children express themselves and through using different modalities, helps them address complex issues in a way that they understand. She believes that by creating a safe and non-judgemental environment, a child can feel accepted and enabled to express themselves fully.
